In the AP reports released in the last week or so, it has been said that Mitt Romney told a reporter that bin Laden wasn’t worth going after, and that the country would only be safer by “a small percentage” if he were caught. McCain called Mitt’s comments “naïve” and many bloggers in the blogosphere went crazy. “Mitt doesn’t support the war on terror! Mitt just wants to surrender!” Umm…No, that’s not what was said at all. Breathe people breathe!
What is the number one threat to America, according to Mitt? I have watched every single clip at Mitt TV (and I do mean every single one) and so I guess I would know the answer to this better than other people who haven’t watched five hours of Mitt speaking. So let me just tell you and save you the time of trying to find the info on one of the clips: Jihadists. Every time, Mitt says that the number one threat to America is the Jihadists. Does this sound like someone who is naïve or is ready to surrender? No.
So now that we’ve all decided to take another look at Mitt (maybe he isn’t insane!) we can find out the second half of the story: The quotes given by the AP didn’t reveal the entire conversation with the reporter. (surprise, surprise.) Dean Barnett over at Townhall covers this much better than I can (I’m rushed for time this morning) so I’m going to send y’all that direction. It’s an interesting read, and most definitely worth your time.
