…But not really. Watching this guy talk grates on my nerves, but I managed to watch all the way to the end of the 8 minute segment. It almost killed me, but I made it. After I post this video, I am hereby refusing to talk about Al Sharpton and this subject anymore, because thinking about him makes me blood boil.
He says that he apologizes for the remark to Mormons, and that he is going to go to Utah to talk to the Mormons and tell them that. Which is funny, since I live in Idaho and also happen to be a Mormon, but since most people seem to believe that Utah is 95% Mormon and the Mormon religion doesn’t exist outside of it, I’ll let that part pass. (Quick fact: There are more Mormons outside of the USA than inside. Quick fact #2: Salt Lake City is only 50% Mormon, and the current mayor of it is an idiot Democrat. I say idiot not because he’s Democrat - although that doesn’t help matters much - but because he truly is an idiot. Okay, Mormon 101 class dismissed. P.S. Mormons do believe in God, in case someone was wondering.)
Overall, I would have to say Sharpton really doesn’t make much sense - his defense seems to be on par with Rudy Giuliani’s recent comments on abortion, meaning by time he’s done, you really have no clue what he said, and you have to wonder if he knows. I said it before and I’ll say it again: Sharpton needs to stop mixing politics and religion. Pick one and stick with it.
Oh, and Chris Matthews has decided that Romney is going after Sharpton because he thinks he has a political advantage. Notice how he starts the piece out, “Mitt Romney goes after Sharpton this week,” making Romney look like he’s the bad guy and the aggressor. It wasn’t Romney who opened his mouth and inserted his foot, it was Sharpton. And if you listen to Romney’s comments, they are really quite civil, considering the guy was just called an atheist and was told that he was just a “temporary problem.” Romney’s ability to keep a civil tongue even when things are rough is well-known and publicized, unlike Rudy and McCain, who are both known for their infamous tempers. If this had happened with either one of them, the blowout would have been much, much bigger.
Okay, so enough commentary; here’s the ultra-long video. Make sure to boo during the stupid parts - it’ll make you feel better, I promise.
